Dry Rub Chicken Wings & Blue Cheese Dressing
We had a short Meal Time Monday this week because of World Cup! Dry rub chicken wings with homemade blue cheese felt like the right thing to make. An air fryer or the convection setting on your oven make for crispy wings without the mess of frying. And this dressing never lasts long in our house. It’s infinitely better than anything store-bought and is great as a dip or dressing.
Dry Rub Chicken Wings
Ingredients
- 2 lbs chicken wings, split at the joint into flats and drumettes
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp smoked paprika
- 1 tsp chipotle chili powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
- Pat the wings dry with paper towels and toss in a resealable plastic bag with the cornstarch to coat well. Add the oil and toss again. In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Add the dry rub to the bag and toss the wings to evenly coat in seasoning. Transfer to a foil-lined baking sheet and roast until the skin is crisp and brown and wings are cooked through, about 25-30 minutes.
Blue Cheese Dressing
Ingredients
- 3 oz blue cheese crumbles, about 1/2 cup
- 1/2 cup sour cream

- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- salt and pepper, to taste

- To make the dressing, combine all ingredients in a bowl and stir well. Season with salt and pepper. Serve with chicken wings or cut vegetables.
