Dry Rub Chicken Wings

Course Appetizer
Cuisine American

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs chicken wings, split at the joint into flats and drumettes
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp chipotle chili powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  • Pat the wings dry with paper towels and toss in a resealable plastic bag with the cornstarch to coat well. Add the oil and toss again. In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar, paprika, chili powder, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Add the dry rub to the bag and toss the wings to evenly coat in seasoning. Transfer to a foil-lined baking sheet and roast until the skin is crisp and brown and wings are cooked through, about 25-30 minutes.
