Spicy Slaw Dogs & Hot Fudge Sundaes
Happy Labor Day! If you don’t want to labor too much and still want to eat something festive, Slaw Dogs and Hot Fudge Sundaes are the answer! Level up a hot dog with a spicy banana pepper and jalapeño slaw and then take your ice cream sundaes up a notch with homemade hot fudge. Crowd pleaser for adults and kiddos alike!Â
Spicy Slaw Dogs
Ingredients
- 1 16- oz bag of coleslaw mix
- 1/4 cup pickle relish
- 1/2 cup pickled hot banana peppers, roughly chopped
- 1/4 cup pickled jalapenos, roughly chopped
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- salt and pepper, to taste
- hot dogs
- hot dog buns
- butter, softened, for toasting buns
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, toss together the coleslaw mix, relish, banana peppers, jalapeños, and mayonnaise. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
- Grill or griddle the hot dogs and serve them on toasted buns, topped with a heap of slaw.
Hot Fudge Sundaes
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- pinch salt
- vanilla ice cream
- peanuts, salted and roasted
- whipped cream
- maraschino cherries
Instructions
- In a small saucepan, bring the cream to a low simmer. Add the butter, brown sugar, chocolate chips, cocoa powder, vanilla, and salt.
- Whisk until smooth and serve over vanilla ice cream, topped with peanuts, whipped cream, and cherries. Store any leftovers in the refrigerator and heat to serve.
